"LEA THA BAND" Lea Abdulhak (bassplayer/lead vocalist, songwriter,composer,arranger and producer) born in Surinam (North Coast South-America) came to Europe (Amsterdam) in 1971, where she started her career as modern dancer and toured around Europe with several dance groups. In the 80's, she discovered her love for the Bass guitar. While living in London, she taught herself to play the instrument. 

It wasn't long before she left for Munich (Germany), where she first started her career as a bass player, and performed with different bands. In 1988, while still in Germany, she started her own band. After gigging and touring the German circuit for a few years, she made her way back to Amsterdam. 

Two years ago she finally found the right musician and a new band was put together featuring: MUTSUMI TORRI - KEYBOARD, MERIAM STOKMAN - GUITAR, STEVE AKKRUM - DRUMS/BG.VOCALS and of course LEA putting down the Funky Bass lines and Vocals. The music played by the band is all original material, written, composed and arranged by Lea Abdulhak. Lea's Music Style is a mix of Funk, Rock, Pop and Reggae. 

With every performance by the band comes the guarantee of a "FUNKY GOOD TIME".
