 Vanessa
Jay was born in Suriname
and raised in Amsterdam,
where she attended 'The
Amsterdam Ballet Academy
studying different forms
of dancing. Her
career took off at an
early age when she was
cast in video clips and
TV shows as a
dancer/background singer
for artists like Debarge
and Timebandits.
In
1990 she moved to Italy
and continued her career
along artist like Raf (Videoclip
‘Siamo soli’, TV
tour: ‘Battito Animale’
and Commercial ‘Sans
Souci’), Zucchero (Videoclip
‘X colpa di chi?’
and extended Live and TV
tour in programs, such
as 'Pavarotti &
friends', Festivalbar,
Buona Domenica, etc...),
Delmar Brown (Live
Tour). In this same
period she undertakes
her first steps as an
recording artist
collaborating with well
known Italian DJ Massimo
Padovani on the track
‘Nasty Rhythm’ on
Irma Records. Following
this positive experience
she continues, through
the years, to
collaborate with
different artist like DJ
Enzo, Master Freez, R.
Fame, Hit Aliens and
Francesco Farfa.
Never
one to shy away from new
experiences, in '98 she
accepts the offer, to
host her own TV show on
Match Music called
‘City Day’. In the
same year she also teams
up with the staff of
‘Veronica Hit radio’
where she co-hosts ‘We
Can Dance Live’ on air
every day.
In
2001 she has the honor
to be the opening act
for Rita Marley &
Lauryn Hill in Pisa at
‘A Tribute To Bob
Marley’. Throughout
the years she been a
successful MC in the
best clubs in Italy.
Currently She is working
on Electro Boogaloo, a
project she has founded
with DJ Castello, that
has her involved in
different productions
and her first solo album
with different
producers.
